Ceramic Thesis Mentorship
I have supported thesis students in several BA, BFA, and MFA programs. Most recently, I have been teaching at Whitman College, a small liberal arts college with a BA program. Below are some images of student work by BA thesis students at Whitman College.
One of my favorite parts of teaching is the mentorship relationship that builds over time between students and professors. Throughout ceramics history, younger artists have learned their trade by artists who came before them. Knowledge, often embodied, was passed through mentorship from one generation to the next. I love being one link in the chain of knowledge and I am particularly passonate about my role and responsibility In the formal and informal process of artistic mentorship.
